Installing new driver :
- Open the Windows Device Manager.
- In the Device Manager make sure the device you are trying to install has not been registered from the previous installation attempts. If the device is found to highlight and remove it from the Device Manager to avoid conflicts during installation.
- Device Manager looks ok after rebooting the computer.
- Like a computer reboot new hardware installation wizard will appear if Windows detects the new hardware using this wizard you should be able to demonstrate the Windows to the folder that contains your drivers either on CD, floppy disk, or folder that contains the file that you downloaded.
If Windows does not detect the new hardware open Control Panel and double-click the Add hardware to run the hardware detection wizard. During the steps that will have the option to tell Windows you have the disk that contains the driver for your new hardware, at this point Windows to the directory that contains the driver for your device.
Driver upgrade for existing devices :
- Open the Windows Device Manager.
- In the Device Manager locate the device you want to update the driver.
- Right-click the device and click Properties.
- In the Properties window click the Driver tab.
- Click the Update Driver button.
- In the Hardware Update Wizard point Windows to the location of a driver update on your hard drive
